Year of the Gate

According to the Hebrew calendar 5778 which began on the Jewish New Year in September of our 2017; the Hebrew number this year paints a picture of a gate. The number 8 speaks of new beginnings. So, we see that during this year we have the opportunity to cross the threshold and pass through a gate into God’s next phase of His purposes individually and corporately. These gates represent opportunities to expand the Kingdom in the church, business, government, media, arts, entertainment and the family.

Angels are assigned to us to get us out of confinement into our spacious place. (Psalm 18:19)

Peter was led out of prison with angelic assistance and the iron gate that led to the city opened effortlessly to expand the Kingdom. Acts 12:10, “When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him."

God is going before us as a fire to prepare the way for new connections, wealth, land and buildings for Kingdom expansion in our assigned territories. This year things are getting straightened out. God is shattering gates and cutting through bars of iron into areas we could not penetrate in past seasons, to lay hold of the spoils. Isaiah 45:2 & 3 describes it well, “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places that you may know that I the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel.”

Let’s march forward into 2018 with great expectation and faith for all that God will do in us and through us!
