Declaring Justice

In the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8, Jesus is teaching that our Father God will answer us speedily in our cries for justice. (verse 8) Speedily can be translated quickly, shortly or soon. So much teaching on prayer implies that sustained begging of God is needed, because He is reluctant to move until some type of quota is reached. This can be connected to a certain number of hours, amount of participants, sinless perfection and levels of desperation to mention a few. This parable is contrasting that God is NOT like the unjust judge. Even under the Old Covenant one imperfect consecrated intercessor could have secured pardon for the whole city of Jerusalem. Jeremiah 5:1, "Run to and from through the streets of Jerusalem; see now and know; and seek in her open places. If you can find a man, if there is anyone who executes judgment, who seeks the truth, and I will pardon her."

We now have a perfect, sinless mediator between God and man, Christ Jesus our Lord. (I Timothy 2:5) Who has imparted to us His perfect righteousness. (II Corinthians 5:21) He has put away our sin once and for all. (Hebrews 9:14,26, 28)

Now with that foundation established, we can transition to Matthew 12:15 - 21. In this passage we see Jesus is healing all the multitude that was following Him and connected this to a fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy where justice is manifesting in healing. This prophecy not only speaks of Christ but also His Bride moving in decrees of justice. This chapter highlights the following things.

1. We are chosen (verse 18)

2. God is well pleased with us in Christ Jesus (verse 18)

3. The Holy Spirit is on us (verse 18)

4. We are called to declare justice that manifests in healing, deliverance and restoration (verse 18)

5. Justice heals wounds (verse 20)

6. Justice restores fire (verse 20)

7. Justice brings victory (verse 20)

I want to encourage you to accelerate your decrees of justice in accordance with the revealed Word of God. As we do this the devil's works will be dismantled, dethroned and destroyed. I John 3:8 states, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." Injustice can be defined as anything that opposes God's Word and will in the earth. Thy will be done on earth as it is heaven. Matthew 6:10.
