Releasers of Glory

The prophetic picture and promise that is manifesting in and upon the Church today is described clearly in Isaiah 60:1 & 2, “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the Glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you!”

The Hebrew word for Glory is multifaceted and must be understood to know the various ways it is experienced. The Hebrew Word is Chabod, primarily means that which is weighty, substantial and heavy. I have experienced what I describe as a weighty pressing presence that burns with Holy fire upon my face and body. Many others have described being glued to the floor. My long time friend and mentor, Dr. John Shiver, taught me that Glory has a face. II Corinthians 4:6 states, “For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”Jesus is the perfect manifestation of Glory that has been revealed. That was prophesied in Isaiah 40:5, “The Glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

The riches of the Glory of God dwells in us, as Christ in us is the Hope of Glory. Our God is also known as the Father of Glory (Ephesians 1:17) and also the Spirit of Glory in I Peter 4:14. The Hebrew word for Glory also implies honor, visible splendor, shining light, brightness, magnificence, fame, power, authority, wealth, riches and holy fire.

This describes what is in us and on us as New Covenant Believers in ever increasing measure from Glory to Glory, as we worship Christ and feed on Him, the Word.

II Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from Glory to Glory, just as by the spirit of the Lord.”

This New Covenant Glory far surpasses and excels the Old Covenant Glory because of the gift of righteousness we have received by faith and the Spirit of Glory dwelling in us. II Corinthians 3:7 – 11, "But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For is the ministry of condemnation had Glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in Glory. For even what was made glorious had no Glory in this respect, because of the Glory that excels. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.”

The Old Testament priests could not even stand to minister when God manifested as a Glory cloud. (II Chronicles 7:2 & 3) Let us press and contend for even greater Glory manifestation. We must appropriate this New Covenant Glory by faith. Faith without works (words) is dead. (James 2:17) Confess the Glory of God is in you, on you and manifesting through you. Live a life of praise, thanksgiving and worship. Ruth Ward Heflin taught, ‘praise until the presence comes, then worship until the Glory comes’. Live a clean, consecrated, holy life.

Avoid anything that dampens the Glory in you. In the Gospel of John Chapter two, Jesus turned water to wine. This was a manifestation of Glory. John 2:11, “This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.” Jesus prophesied we are signs and wonders in Isaiah 8:18, “Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me. We are for signs and wonders in Israel, from the Lord of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion.”

Today the Spirit of Glory wants to be released through us! Let’s be led with compassion and transform our sphere of influence!

Shalom,

Pastor Michael
