The Perfect Gift

The lavish love of our Heavenly Father has graciously granted us the perfect gift of God Himself in Christ Jesus. James 1:17 describes what we have received, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”

This gift provides us with a perfect righteousness that satisfies the perfect standards of a perfect God, II Corinthians 5:21, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Because of Christ’s righteousness and shed blood on the cross, the gift has become personal, accessible, relational bringing us into sonship.

We now have this gift, also called the Blessing of Abraham, resting on us by faith. (Galatians 3:13 & 14) We walk in favor and our steps are ordered by the Lord Himself. Father God has empowered us to prosper and excel to the highest levels in all realms. Father Abraham sums up for us our testimony in all the seasons of our experience, both the difficult and the sweet. Genesis 24:1, “”Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.”

Emmanuel God with us, God for us and faithful to us forever. Balak found out from the prophet Balaam that God had decided to bless His people and could not reverse it. Numbers 23:19 & 20, “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” This is a picture of the perfect gift we have received in Christ Jesus. Every curse turns to a blessing, Deuteronomy 23:5 “Nevertheless the Lord your God would not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.”

I leave you today with my favorite Scriptures. Receive, believe and declare these frequently over your life. Isaiah 54:13 – 15 & 17, “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.”

Shalom,

Pastor Michael
