Word of the Week - Pastor Michael

Walking in Resurrection Power

Many times when Jesus saw hurting people He was moved with compassion and healed, delivered or provided for them.  Jesus released supernatural, miracle working, resurrection power to meet the needs of those in distress.  Normally Jesus released His power by touch or speaking words over a person's condition.  The blind saw, the lame walked, the deaf heard, the dead were raised and the lepers were cleansed. (Matthew 11:5)  Jesus lived by the power of God and calls us to do the same.  (II Cor. 3:4, 5)  What we must know by revelation and experience is that the same miracle working, resurrection power dwells in us as believers.  God desires to release His burning love and raw power through us as conduits to see the captives set free.  Our motivation is love for people and that Jesus' name will be honored and made famous among us.  Scripture is clear that God has given us His same Spirit of power.  (II Timothy 1:7)  The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us and works among us. (Romans 8:17)

Ephesians 6:10 declares, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."  The word 'strong' is describing a power that infuses believers with excessive doses of inward strength that can withstand any attack and overcome any force.  It is a superhuman, supernatural strength.  Greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world. (I John 4:4)  The word 'power', is describing a tangible demonstration of some sort of external miraculous manifestation.  It is almost always results in some type of external miraculous sign that can be seen with our eyes.  This is the same power that raised Jesus, Lazarus and our unregenerate spirits from the dead.  I Corinthians 4:20 tells us that the kingdom of God is not just a matter of talk but of power.   I Corinthians 2:4 & 5 says, "And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."

This power is released to others in four simple ways.  First, we must believe and confess that this resurrection power dwells in us.  Second, we must pray fervently for this power to be released and manifested to those in need through us. (Acts 4:29)  Third, we must speak words of authority over the condition of others, making bold declarations such as, "your son lives, rise up and walk, Lazarus come forth...." etc.  Fourth, we must release the power by touch.  Jesus instructs us to lay hands on the sick and that they will recover. (Mark 16:18)  Sometimes power will go out of us when someone touches us, like the woman who touched Jesus' cloak. (Luke 8:44-46) This power heals aids, cancers, scoliosis, heart conditions, blood disorders, any incurable rare disease!

God want us to know and experience the power of His resurrection, (Philippians 3:9) the surpassing greatness of His power to us and through us.  (Ephesians 1:19)  The Gospel of the Kingdom is only fully preached when there are demonstrations of sings, wonders and miracles.  (Romans 15:18, 19)  Let us walk like Stephen in Acts 6:5, a man full of faith and power.   I encourage you today to expect and believe with me for the supernatural, miracle working, resurrection power of God to be released to those who are hurting.

I leave for India February 9th through the 18th.  I am depending on your Spirit led prayers to have a safe, fruitful and powerful time during this mission.  Thank you for your prayers and support.

Shalom,

Pastor Michael
